How It Works: The Basics of The Amazing Race Dauphin

The Amazing Race Dauphin is a fast-paced, fun, and challenging competition that will take you across the community, testing your teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Here’s an overview of how the event works so you know what to expect:

Step 1: The Starting Line

  • Check-In: Teams will check in at the designated starting location at least 30 minutes before the race begins. Each team will receive a race kit with key materials, including rules, emergency contact information, and your first clue.
  • Kick-Off Ceremony: Before the race begins, we’ll have a short ceremony to welcome participants, review key rules, and get everyone energized for the event!

Step 2: Clues and Challenges

  • Receive Your First Clue: At the starting line, teams will be given their first clue. Clues are designed to lead you to a specific location in Dauphin.
  • Follow the Trail: Once you’ve solved the clue, travel to the designated location. (Remember, teams must travel together and may only use approved modes of transportation, such as walking or methods provided during the event.)
  • Complete Challenges:
    • At each location, teams must complete a challenge before receiving their next clue.
    • Challenges may include physical tasks, puzzles, trivia, or creative activities. Each challenge is designed to test different skills, ensuring every team member can shine.
    • A judge or volunteer at each location will verify that you’ve completed the task before providing your next clue.

Step 3: Keep Moving

  • Stay on Track: Use your clues to navigate from one location to the next. There are no shortcuts—teams must follow the prescribed order of checkpoints.
  • Teamwork is Key: Success in the race depends on communication, strategy, and collaboration with your teammate.

Step 4: The Finish Line

  • Final Destination: The first team to successfully complete all challenges and arrive at the finish line will be crowned the winners.
  • Celebrate Together: Once all teams have crossed the finish line, we’ll gather for an awards ceremony to announce the winners and celebrate everyone’s efforts.

Key Rules to Remember

  • Teams must stay together at all times during the race.
  • You can only proceed to the next location after completing the current challenge.
  • Cheating or unsportsmanlike behaviour will result in disqualification.

How to Prepare

  • Bring Your Best Attitude: A positive and adventurous mindset will go a long way.
  • Dress Appropriately: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for a day of activity.
  • Stay Hydrated: Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the event.
